The reason why Department of Education (DepED) Open Educational Resources (OER) - this group existed is because of Sir Mark Anthony Sy, the visionary when he, together with the team of EDUTECH had their National Seminar about Open Educational Resources (OER) last November, 2019. As the team said, Puerto Princesa City was one of the divisions to have its first national seminar on OER. Actually, one of the plans of the ETU team is to conduct seminar to all divisions all over the Philippines but when the Covid-19 pandemic has occurred every thing has changed; instead, they're conducting it online as what we they do now.
Because of that, DepEd OER has shared with the same vision to provide the teachers with soft skills development and enhancement program in the effective integration of ICT into teaching and learning using the emerging education solutions and to equip them with knowledge and skills to be globally competitive on this very challenging 21st century education and to equip these 21st century learners the skills they need to succeed in this NEW WORLD, and helping them grow the confidence to practice those skills.
That is why, every time DepEd EdTech Unit has this kind of trainings and seminars; it's inevitably DepEd OER will always support the advocacy of the team by sharing these learnings to all teachers within this group and to all related educational group.
Like this whole week, March 15-19, 2021, there will be an INSET and all teachers are encourage to attend. For sure, there are those who are not available due to poor internet connections or whatever reasons of not attending the live session, DepEd OER is there to share the replay just to be sure that all teachers, at least, with these effort and endeavor could help them deliver the very essence of the seminars or trainings. And rest assured that all of these, sharing replay of trainings and seminars are in Sir Mark's permission.
